5 oz 2010 America the Beautiful | Mount Hood PCGS MS-68 (PL) Silver Coin
This Mint State 68 Proof Like coin is a memorable way to protect your savings! This coin was the fifth release in the America the Beautiful series.
Mount Hood is the tallest mountain in Oregon, and forms the centrepiece of the Mount Hood National Forest area comprising over one million acres of protected land. It is a stratovolcano, built up out of many layers of hardened lava and volcanic ash. Mount Hood hasn't had an eruptive event since 1907, and is prized for the 12 glaciers that cover it's upper reaches.
The obverse of the coin features the John Flanagan effigy of Gerorge Washington, as it has appeared on US quarters since 1932.
The reverse features a majestic view of Mount Hood with Lost Lake in the foreground. The mountain's heavily forested slopes fill the middle of the coin's field. In an interesting touch, the weight and fineness of the coin have been engraved on the outer rim.
This coin has been graded by PCGS as Mint State 68, proof like. The coin is encapsulated in a PCGS slab with serial number.
The America the Beautiful series will eventually comprise 56 unique coins by the time the series is complete in 2021. These US Mint coins are a perfect way build your wealth in ounces, while buying a government minted product with a relatively low premium.
