5 oz 2015 America the Beautiful | Blue Ridge Parkway Silver Coin
A memorable way to protect your savings and celebrate one of America's most famous roads!
The Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles long and was one of the public works projects initiated during the Great Depression. The Parkway was built to connect Shenandoah National Park to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The slow, winding road through the Appalachian Highlands has 26 tunnels and dozens of unique scenic viewpoints. Although not technically a National Park, it is administered by the National Park Service and is perennially the most visited area in the National Park System.
The obverse of the coin features the John Flanagan effigy of George Washington, as it has appeared on US quarters since 1932.
The reverse features a beautiful view of the Parkway, leaving one tunnel and heading to another close by. Blooming wildflowers line the road in the foreground. In an interesting touch, the weight and fineness of the coin have been engraved on the outer rim.
The America the Beautiful series will eventually comprise 56 unique coins by the time the series is complete in 2021. These US Mint coins are a perfect way build your wealth in ounces, while buying a government minted product with a relatively low premium. These will only be minted for three months, order today to avoid disappointment!
